If anyone has ever lived in Atlanta, you know that traffic is a biotch!!! Well, mother nature was all in the business 7/17 because it took me 2 hours to get the the fan event at the RWA!!!! I had it all planned out and got there the last 30 minutes. It didn't stop me from getting my romance book buying on, but I missed many of my favorites.  Oh well, as Doris Day would say, Que sera sera (okay, I'm sure someone sang this before her, but I'm a HUGE Doris Day fan so sue me)!!  Anyway, I bought quite a few books, and I met some new manlove writers and some new Blaze writers. I hadn't read any Blaze lines in a long time. Over the next few weeks, I will be reviewing books that I purchased, so stay on the look out.  The first one on my list will be Tawny Weber's A Seal's Surrender.
HELLO!!!! OMG, I did not mean to be gone so long, but I started a new job in January 2013 (a girl gotta pay the bills), and truly I am now able to come up for a breath of air to start doing what I love and that is talking romance, books, boys, toys, fun and everything that can mean!!! Anyway, I'm attending the free Fan Day of the RWA event in Atlanta this year.  This is my first time attending and I'm looking forward to the experience. Who doesn't love a good romance novel? I can't wait to smell the paper!!!!  If anyone is going to RWA 2013 in Atlanta and you see this quick hello, let me know what to expect.  Can't wait to buy up some books!!!!

Okay guys!! I have been enjoying the Manlove Romances of Joyee Flynn- Who Needs Christmas?  I know, at first I was like, What?  So, I decided to give it a read and now I have looked up and I'm on book #6. There are 12 elves who have left the North Pole. They have been around for a long time and they each start finding their mates. If you want some ho, ho, hot elfin love for the holidays, you have to at least read book 1. You won't be disappointed!!!
I know, I know, who hasn't talked about, blogged about, did a skit about or As Seen on Ellen- Fifty Shades of Grey.  Well, I'm going to give it a go. I bought Fifty Shades of Grey back in April or May 2012. I had gone into a B&N, this took a long time for me because Borders was my store, and saw two women looking at the book. I asked what it was about and she said,"Do you like your traditional romance or erotic romance?" Of course I told her erotic romance, and she said well you need to get this book. Ok, so I buy it and the other two books in the series. Maybe I'm too kinky or little older than the market it was targeted for because Fifty Shades of Grey was a little tame for me. A friend of mine who reads a lot of young adult novels loved it and she is always asking me for the names of erotic romance novels. I always ask if she is ready to put her big girl panties on to read the erotic romances that I read. It's my understanding that Fifty Shades was written for the Twilight market and you see how well that did!! LOL.  I'm not saying it wasn't a good read, quite the contrary, it was a delightful read, and I found myself enjoying the back and forth between Christian and Ana. I prefer the writers who write about BDSM from a real grown up point of view like my girl Sophie Oak. Read her Siren series found at www.sirenpublishing.com and you will see what I mean. NOTE: I do not work for Siren Publishing but I do buy a lot of books from that publisher (LOL). You may also want to check out www.looseid.com and www.samhainpublishing.com because I have found some great authors there too. I must say that E L James did bring erotic romance to the forefront and let women and men know it's okay to be comfortable in your sexuality, so I give her big kudos for that. As far as my reading preferences, I will stick with my ladies and gents who write with a little bit more spice.  It's never too late for spice!!!

For some reason, I have been reading a lot of ManLove erotic romances. I have my favorites: Stormy Glenn, Joyee Flynn and Lynn Hagen. I even got one of my friends to read Lynn Hagen and he really liked her. She will get you caught up and you start out reading Book 1 in the Brac Pack and you look up and you are on Book 20!! LOL. I've also found Vicktor Alexander who writes really hot ManLove erotic romances. Stormy, Joyee, Lynn and Vicktor can be found at www.sirenpublishing.com. Siren Publishing carries not only Man Love but all types of erotic romance. It 's a great site and if you love erotic romance, you will like Siren Publishing.  I also read Laura Baumbach who is strictly dic*ly!! She writes ManLove and has a publishing company for ManLove writers. You can find her and all her ManLove writers at www.mlrpress.com. The site is awesome with a lot of great writers. Go and check them out!
I have a tendency to pull out old books and re-read. I learned from my mom a long time ago that even if you have read a book, you will find something new when you read it again. What I found with Eternally Yours is that I really liked the Madaris series. Of course with all series, it is always good to start with the first book, but since I am past that and will read an old one for pleasure, I had to share with y'all. A brief synopsis: Clayton Madaris is talk dark and handsome and  Syneda Walters is a beautiful woman with past pain. When the two get together, sparks fly. You first meet them in Tonight and Forever which is the story of Justin Madaris, Clayton's brother, and Lorren Jacobs, Syneda's best friend really more like a sister from foster care. What I like about this series is that there are other story lines going on in the book, and Brenda has a way of bringing it all together.  Go and get this series!!!!! It's a great read.
So I like to cleanse my palate from reading all my erotic romance by reading some traditional romance or murder mysteries. Recently I revisited and oldie but goodie, QuickSliver- An Arcane Society Novel. Now if you don't already know, I'm sure you romance fans already know, Amanda Quick is Jane Ann Krentz and Jayne Castle. You can read the Arcane books out of sequence but if you can, try to read them in the order they were published. Now her Amanda Quick is historical, Jayne Ann Krentz is contemporary and Jayne Castle is on an alien planet that was found through The Curtain. I know, she is awesome. Well, I revisited QuickSliver, and I must say that Owen Sweetwater is definitely a man I would like to explore! Now, I am not a historical afficianado who studies how things are suppose to be in the 1800's but her books are always an enjoyable read. You can find her books anywhere. I get most of my books from Borders, but now I go to Barnes and Nobles and Books A Million.  Although I read a lot of books online or with my KOBO e-reader, sometimes, I need to hold a book in my hand and smell the paper. There is nothing like holding a good book. If you are new to Jayne Ann Krentz and her other works, visit her at http://www.krentz-quick.com. She is awesome!!! Happy reading everyone.
I am a huge Joyee Flynn fan, and recently met her at the Siren Publishing convention in Dallas, TX. I just finished reading her book in the Resistant Omega series, Wesley. This book had an excellent story line along with a great romance and some hot man love! It is best to start with the first book in this series titled Tristan. I learned more about the Omegas in this book and I want to know more about the treasures that Wesley finds. I'm sure with other Omegas we will learn more, but this series really came together for me after Wesley's story. For those who don't know about Joyee Flynn, you need to add her into your life. Most of her books are in the Man Love Collection at Siren Publishing and she is a definite must read.  Go check her out at www.sirenpublishing.com.  I will be reviewing more writers with this publisher and will cover more Man Love, Menage/Poly amour and traditional M/F pairings.

I love romance books and have read them since I was in the fourth grade. My grandmother would get upset about me reading those "nasty" books. They were all Harlequin, Silhouette and Second Chance at Love. I wonder what she would say about what I am reading now!! LOL.
